CURE is the second in an annual series of works by Lia Rousset and Amber Ginsburg that publicly shares the intimate materials and practices of farming. The two artists wove roughly 2,600 plants into the 6018North space. The three-week installation enabled long-term storage of the past year's garlic harvest. CURE visualizes the care that is needed to generate and sustain food production, as well as community.
Throughout history garlic has been used both in food preparation and healing. Visitors sample freshly grated garlic with lemon juice, which mitigates garlic breath, and are invited to share other restorative “cures” by writing them on the wall.
