Fortune for the Unfortunate

We invite you to join us for an evening of fortune telling and community gathering as we explore ways to sustain our lives, work, and the environment together while stepping into the unknown future.

This workshop is part of a citywide event series, a collaboration between 6018|North, the Chinese American Museum of Chicago, and the Heritage Museum of Asian Art, occurring over the weekend of January 10 and 11, 2025.

Explore your internal dragon through movement, qigong, and writing exercises.
This is one example of what you will experience. For the last three years, Ji Yang and 6018North have been offering a form of Chinese Fortunetelling utilizing Kau Chim.
This fortune-telling method involves shaking a box containing 78 numbered bamboo sticks until a single stick falls out. That number corresponds to your fortune, as interpreted by artist-healers.
