Green Initiatives Research
6018North is honored to receive a research and development grant as part of Art Design Chicago 2024, an initiative of the Terra Foundation for American Art, exploring and elevating Chicago’s rich art and design histories and diverse creative communities.
These pages are a living research repository that begins to examine the defining designs that have shaped our land, investigate new green design initiatives, and dig up unrealized visionary ideas to reactivate them. The catalog also investigates artworks, maps, and designs from archives to inform an exhibition that will revitalize interest in our current, pressing ecological concerns.
The project considers the art and design of Chicago’s infrastructure, from its Indigenous roots to contemporary green designs and environmental initiatives.
